The “That ’70s Show” actor was first accused of sexual misconduct in 2017, which led the Los Angeles Police Department to open an investigation into the case. Three years later, in June 2020, he was accused of raping a former girlfriend and two others.
The raping of the ladies allegedly took place at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003. He got in contact with all three women allegedly through the Church of Scientology of which he is said to be a staunch member.
He had reportedly drugged the three ladies and had his way with them. While the jury found him guilty of two counts of rape, it failed to reach a verdict on his longtime girlfriend.
Following the verdict, District Attorney George Gascón released a statement in which he noted in part, “This has been a long and arduous road for the victims of Mr. Masterson.” One of the ladies he allegedly raped was unsparing in her words as well, describing him at the court as “pathetic, disturbed and completely violent,” according to The Associated Press.
