Event Promoters Fume As Babes Wodumo Pulls No-Show At 3 Gigs In KwaZulu-Natal

Her history as an artist is replete with incidents of no-show: She would be booked but would not show up for the gig or would show up late with excuses. South African singer Babes Wodumo has done it again, and event promoters are fuming.

The “Wololo” hitmaker, who recently became a widow following the death of her husband Mandla “Mampintsga” Maphumulo on December 24 2022, had reportedly failed to show up for three gigs she had been booked for in KwaZulu-Natal.

according to multiple reports, she had been booked to perform at Estradini Lifestyle, Ora Lifestyle and Second Half Bar and Restaurant but failed to show up for any of them. As a result, event promoters had to issue statements apologising to partygoers.

According to event promoters, attempts to reach the songstress on the phone proved abortive. So they had to inform the public, including those who had bought tickets, of the situation.

Babes Wodumo is one of several South African musicians who have been called out at one point or the other for not showing up after being booked. Others include Makhadzi, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa.

At the time of writing, Babes Wodumo has not said anything regarding claims she failed to show up after being booked in KwaZulu-Natal.
