Ex Global Says SA Hip Hop Is Dead

Mzansi rapper Ex Global believes that SA Hip Hop is dead.

The world is currently talking about Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef. Some SA Hip Hop stars have chipped in their opinions on it. Ex Global tweeted,

“Can we all agree that Drake won by turning this around? The fact that they baited Kendrick for a week with fake news? And “ Whitney, when I say I’ll hit you back, it’s a lot safer, I promise “ . Hip Hop is truly the best genre in the world. What a time to be alive,”

His tweet caught the attention of a fan who asked what rappers are doing about resurrecting SA Hip Hop.

“What are you guys doing about SA Hip Hop though?“

Replying, Ex Global revealed that the genre is dead and cited the recent bad publicity it has gotten.

“My boy just called me right now, shattered with the bad PR SA hip hop got last week. To him? It’s finished, it’s done. The DJs killed it for him after most rappers disappointed him. There’s no point in us going out doing the most for the culture, it’s over as it stands,” he wrote.

He had also previously stated that the music being released is no longer attractive to women.

“I’m not going to lie to y’all, the raps are scaring away the baddies from the shows, that’s why SA hip hop events are just squad deep nikkas. Where’s the music that makes you feel like dressing up and balling?? The musical touch? The feel good touch? Make you dance?”
