Falz Speals On Not Being Musically Boxed, Amapiano In Nigeria & His Collabo With Kamo Mphela

Nigerian rapper, Falz speaks to Slikour about not being musically boxed, Amapiano in Nigeria, and his collaboration with Kamo Mphela.

Falz is one of Africa’s biggest stars. The very versatile Nigerian artist is famous for some of his huge hits. A couple of them have been quite revolutionary. This includes the hit “This Is Nigeria”, in which he spoke about the ills in his country which have become norms.

With the wave of the Amapiano genre sweeping through the continent and the world, he joined in. Falz teamed up with Nigerian Afro House queen and dropped the Amapiano Jam, “Squander”. He later released a remix of the song which also features contributions from Kamo Mphela.

In a recent chat with Slikour, he opened up about the sub-genre in Nigeria, not being boxed in music, and his Kamo Mphela collab. According to him, he’s a lover of cultures, and always feels the need to explore them in his music. He also opened up about loving fusions, hence most of the genres he has done.

He has stated that he became a Kamo fan watching her on TV. The two finally linked up when she was on Nigeria, and worked on the collab together. Watch the full interview below.
