Mamppintsha’s family has put to rest speculations that Babes Wodumo, the widow of their son, would not be attending the funeral of the late Zama Gumede, Mampinysha’s mother.
Speculations about Babes Wodumo being barred from attending Gumede’s funeral started flying around soon after her death. Gumede was said not to be in the best of health previously, but her health condition worsened when her son Mampintsha died after a mild stroke.
Some sources pointed out that she suffered a stroke herself while others noted it was the deterioration of a previous illness, either way, sadly, Gumede didn’t survive her afflictions despite the family publicly asking for financial aid to take care of her medical bills.
Gumede’s funeral will hols today, January 21, at KwaMashu L Hall in Durban, the same place where her memorial service was held a day ago.
The funeral will hold in the afternoon because, according to the family’s spokesperson, Balungile Gumede, they wanted to accommodate everyone, because not everyone would be able to accommodate the funeral due to work and other commitments.
Babes Wodumo’s sister Nondumiso Simelane confirmed that her sister would be attending the funeral but declined to share other details, as she said it is a family matter.
