Fashion Designer Quiteria Kekana Dead at 38

After a short battle with cancer, South African fashion designer Lebogang Quiteria Kekana died on April 17 at his home in Melville. He was 38.

His family announced his death and confirmed that he succumbed to cancer after a short part. It is unknown exactly what type of cancer he suffered from. 

Details of his funeral are also not out yet, but the family is requesting some privacy as they mourn their loss. The celebrated fashion designer leaves behind a son, siblings, and parents. 

For those that have reached out to the family in one way or the other, the family expressed gratitude while also asking for prayers from members of the public. 

Quiteria Kekana was in the fashion industry for a while. He initially had a partnership with George, with whom he was collectively known as Quitera & George. 

After they split, Quiteria launched another fashion line in his own name. In his new venture, he had the opportunity to design for several South African celebrities. He was also the designer of what most of what Beyonce wore during her Global Citizen concert appearance in 2018. He celebrated the milestone on his Instagram page. 

He will be sorely missed for his contributions to South African fashion.
