Forbes Africa Names Nasty C, DJ Zinhle & Other Musos Icons On The Continent

The “Zulu Man With Some Power” Nasty C has shown once again that he’s actually a man with some power, winning a big mention by Forbes as an icon on the continent.

On who an icon might be, Forbes, quoting the Zimbabawean novelist Tsitsi Dangarembga, noted: “An icon is someone who has held true to realize socially positive goals against great challenges and odds, who has lived to tell the tale, who inspires others in a positive way, and who leaves behind a legacy of uplifting work.”

Nasty C apparently fits that description and was named among the icons on the continent. The list covers encapsulates various fields, from music to sports to politics to the sciences.

Notable figures on the list are Elon Musk of Tesla and Space X and Barack Obama, the former president of the United States.

Others are Djimon Hounsou, John Kani, Eliud Kipchoge, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Idris Elba and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

The list has 40 icons in all. Nasty C’s appearance on the list is especially significant in that he’s one of the youngest.

Nasty C had an impressive run last year, culminating in his releasing a Netflix documentary about his adventures in Japan. He has plans of relocating to the United States but the cornavirus appears to be delaying it.
