The entertainment scene mourns as former Boom Shaka dancer Mmabatho Mokoena passes on.
According to a report by Drum, former Boom Shaka dancer Mmabatho Mokoena has passed on. The magazine wrote,
“The dancer who formed a trio with her childhood friends, Thembi Seete and Lebo, passed away in hospital on Saturday after suffering from a long illness. Her father is inconsolable but opens up about her final days.” Her father opened up about her battle with a sickness and his hopes that the Lord would spare her.
Her father had insisted she focus on her studies leading her to move to the UK and start a new life. She moved back to SA after falling ill, and things took a downward turn. Her father believes she was traumatized by the death of her mom and a lover who was hindered by distance. Mourners gathered at her childhood home in Meadowlands Zone 2, Pilane Street to honour her memory.
