Former Pro Wrestler Darren Drozdov Dead At 54
Former professional footballer and WWE athlete Darren Drosdov has passed away. He was 54.
Multiple reports indicate that he died at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. His sister Rommi Drosdov confirmed his death, as did his longtime friend who double as his agent, Cliff Stein. Neither of them revealed what led to his death.
Darren was born on 7 April 1969, in Mays Landing, Hamilton, New Jersey, United States, And he spent most of his life in his state of birth. He studied criminal justice at the Univesity of Maryland and was part of the institution’s soccer team as well.
He played for the Denver Broncos as well as for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, where, by his own admission, he started thinking of a career in professional wrestling. Actually taking to professional wrestling has always been at the back of his mind, but that thought gained strength during his time with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
He would eventually leap into the world of wrestling. Sadly, in October 1999 during a match at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, he had an accident that paralysed all four limbs, leaving him a quadriplegic – a condition he had until his death on June 30.
