Mzansi is shocked to hear that former Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter Lulu Haarmans has died at 40.

One of the saddest things to hear at the beginning of a new year is the death of someone dear. Mzansi and the family of former Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter Lulu Haarmans is mourning her passing at the age of 40.

The news broke following a report by DispatchLive that she died shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Makhanda on Thursday evening. According to the family of the deceased, the former presenter easy taken to the hospital at 2:30 pm, but she could not make it.

She died a few hours after being admitted. The family said they are shattered and are still coming to terms with the heartbreaking news. Haarmans is best known for working as a presenter at Umhlobo Wenene FM. Her run at the station came to an end in 2019 after she was sacked for failing to attend an event hosted by the station.

While she was there, she presented a mid-morning show called Khanya Gqiyazana and later joined East London-based radio station Keith Ngesi Radio. She also recently joined a newly launched online radio station called Ilizwi FM. Friends and well-wishers have sent condolences to her family.
