Four suspects alleged to be terrorizing a community in Inanda have been killed in a shoot-out with Police.

TimesLIVE reports that the KZN police commissioner had showered praises on his officers for their bravery following the death of four terrorism suspects who were involved in a shoot-out with them. The suspects were believed to have been terrorizing the Inanda community in northwest Durban before they met their deaths.

It was reported that this all happened on Monday evening. There are further reports that a member of the National Intervention Unit was shot in the leg and is currently in stable condition at a hospital. The KZN police commissioner, Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, spoke highly of the officers who carried out the feat.

A spokesperson for the police, Brig Jay Naicker, related the entire incident to the media. He revealed that a team comprising police disciplines, private security, the National Intervention Unit, and the Hawks visited the community at 11 pm after they were led by intelligence to a house near Dube Village Mall.

He said they were met with gunfire as they approached the house.

“After a heated gun battle, four suspects were fatally wounded. Police found four pistols in their possession. We will continue to hunt down these ruthless criminals who are terrorizing innocent civilians in Inanda. It is obvious they are hell-bent on taking down police officers and will not submit themselves to face the might of the law.”
