According to reports, a drama reboot of the show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is currently in the works.

We dont know if you’ve heard, but the popular 90s show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is coming back. According to new information, it is getting a drama reboot.

The old show aired from 1990 to 1996 showing 6 seasons, all almost equating to 150 episodes. It starred James Avery, Janet Hubert, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana M. Ali, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Ross Bagley. Its biggest star, Will Smith went on to star in various Hollywood blockbusters.

Now, the “Men In Black” star will be returning as an executive producer of the new show which will be based on Morgan Cooper’s viral video. The trailer which was uploaded last year has garnered over 5 million views on YouTube. Reports reveal that the project is being shipped to several streaming giants including HBO Max.

Morgan Cooper is expected to co-write and direct the series, and also serve as an co-executive producer, while Chris Collins will also co-write, executive produce and also serve as the show runner. As mentioned earlier, Will Smith will also executive produce via Westbrook Studios alongside a host of others including Quincy Jones, Benny Medina and its original creators Andy and Susan Borowitz.

Other executive producers include Miguel Melendez and Westbrook Studios’ Terence Carter. Westbrook Studios and its original producers, Universal Television (UTV) will produce the show.
