Last weekend, #DStvMVCA was the hashtag trending on the social media spaces in South Africa. This is due to the prestigious event, DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards that was held in The Dome in Johannesburg.
DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards was a grand event that celebrated our local talents, as they kept us entertained throughout 2019. Several fans of the stars, who were eager to see them go home with award plaques, stormed the event.
Khathide ‘Tshatha’ Ngobe of Ukhozi FM VJ won the Ultimate Viewers’ Choice Award which is the biggest award of the night. It is reserved for the nominee with the highest votes overall. Khathide ‘Tshatha’ Ngobe also won the award as the Favourite Radio Personality.
Other stars that walked home with an award include Moshe Ndiki who awarded the Favourite TV Presenter, Kabza De Small as the Favourite Rising Star and Favourite DJ, Sindi Dlathu as Favourite Actress, Bonang Matheba as Favourite Personality of the Year, Siya Kholisi as Favourite Sports Personality, Warren Masemola as Favourite Actor, and Siyanda Maphumulo as Favourite Comedian. For the Favourite Song of the Year, Prince Kaybee’s ‘Gugulethu’ featuring Supta, Indlovukazi, and Afro Brotherz, went home with the prize. Moshe Ndiki was the winner for the Favourite TV Presenter.
