Funeral And Memorial Details For The Late Boxer Dingaan Thobela

He made a name for himself in South Africa’s boxing space. Like all mortals, there came that day of departure for Dingaan Thobela. Death came knocking and the departure was final.

It was a shock strike – in some quarters anways. But people are beginning to come to terms with the reality that he is no more, eepcieally with new details emerging  of his funeral and memorial service.

The late boxer’s memorial service was fixed for Tuesday May 7 at the Empire in Parktown, Johannesburg, with the time given as 11 am prompt. His funeral service has been scheduled for Thursday, May 9, at the Dlamini Multipurpose Hall in Soweto.

The late Dingaan Thobela was a big-name pugilist who charmed millions of South Africans with his skills. He was particularly active in the 90s and early 200s and was even a world champion in two weight classes – a personal milestone.

Sonce the news of his death broke, those who know him have been sharing their best memories of him, with some of his childhood friends noting how wonderful a person he was.

Dingaan Thobela will be missed for his contributions to South African sports, especially the boxing universe, and the hope he gave others.
