Gigi Lamayne reveals how her recent international feature with Bri Biase came to be.
Here in Mzansi, we love it when our favourite artists make us proud by taking their music to new heights. We always have high hopes for each one of them, and when it happens, we share in the success.
Mzansi rapper, Gigi Lamayne put smiles on a lot of faces when she delivered her most recent single “Mojo Jojo” which featured American rapper, Bri Biase. Literally everyone was proud to see that happen, and we all made it obvious.
Somehow, we never know how these features come to be. Luckily for is, Gigi is telling all about it.
Speaking to Daily Sun, she revealed that she had met the rapper through Monde Thwala and loved her kind of music and what it represented. This prompted her to seize the opportunity and record with her.
She said,
“We met through Monde Thwala, I checked her out on social media and I liked her. I liked the kind of a person she is and what she stood for. I had always wanted to go all over the world and rap, so here was this opportunity in front of me and I took it.
“Although I’ve worked with artists from outside of Mzansi before, this was my first American feature and I enjoyed it. I plan on working with more artists from there, Europe too. I think it’s time I expand my brand and go out of Africa.”
