The death has been announced of gospel singer Israel Mosehla. He was aged 50 years.
His wife Millicent Mosehla announced the death to the world, adding that a family member would be appointed soon to share more details on his passing and obsequies.
The cause of his death has not been made public but the fact that he is no more is enough for most of his fans. On social media, they have been mourning him and recollecting his days on the gospel music scene, pushing his name to the trends’ list on Twitter.
Israel Mosehla was born in 1970 to a family of musicians. It was inevitable, then, that he should take to music as well. Israel and his brother Isaiah founded a gospel band called G Effect in collaboration with their friends Bongani Matsobane and Jabu Nkabinde.
Israel Mosehla left the group to pursue a solo career soon after. The report of his death has led to outpouring of grief in the gospel industry. Several gospel artistes, including Bucy Radebe, have commiserated with the deceased’s family. The condolences are still pouring in.
