Heavy-K Claims That South Africans “Sleep On Him”

Heavy-K’s assertion that his fans were overlooking his talent on Sunday, June 26, was rejected by the fans

This comes after the house music DJ and producer, whose real name is Mkhululi Siqula, expressed his disappointment with South Africans for not embracing his fresh style. He claimed it was unfair to create new music and not even receive praise, but they preferred to inquire about his whereabouts.

“One thing about South Africa! They will sleep on Heavy-K then ask what happened or where is he? That time I’ve currently got the number 1 song on radio right now,” he wrote in his tweet. Heavy was discussing “Phakeme”, his most recent track with Ndoni as the featured act. After being explained why it was so popular on various digital music streaming services, he declared that he would not be amused by criticism posted on Twitter.

“All I’m saying is I’m always seeing people asking where am I? Or what happened to me? Even in interviews they ask the same question, even though I still have platinum selling singles, so my point is you can’t sleep on a person then ask bakuphi,” he said.

His supporters dissented, stating that they always enjoy his new music and that he doesn’t inform them when he publishes something.
