2020 has been a crazy year. To top it all, Mzansi was heartbroken at the news of Bob Mabena’s death. While we all still can’t make any sense of it, details on how he died have been revealed.
Reports state that he was with his wife at the time of his death. Apparently, he had been discharged from the hospital and was being driven home by her when he just stopped breathing. The hospital confirms that he suffered a cardiac arrest.
The family spokesperson, Winston Maimane detailed what went down to TshisaLIVE.
He revealed that he got a call from his wife, Eucharist who told him he had stopped breathing in the car so he adviced her to make a U-turn and take him back to the hospital. After trying to resuscitate him for two hours, around two in the afternoon, the doctors revealed that he had died.
“I got a call from his wife while they were still driving home to say that he had basically just stopped breathing. She said they had just left the hospital and so I told her to make a U-turn and take him back,”
“We all rushed there, me and some other friends of his, and we sat with his wife and four-year-old child for two hours while they tried to resuscitate him. Eventually, around two in the afternoon, they confirmed that he had passed.”
“The family are at a stage where it is starting to settle in. As you can imagine, it was traumatic for everyone when we all found out initially. It is a roller-coaster ride, emotionally.”
