Apparently Boity’s mother Modiehi Thulo, a sangoma or traditional healer, really wants to help her people by charging less, but the ancestors who’ve given her the power to occupy the office are against her bringing down her fees – or so she says.
She recently stated that she wanted to charge nothing for her services as a sangoma – just to help people – but her ancestors wouldn’t allow it. So she had to charge the fees even though some people may not be able afford them.
She made this known in an Instagram post which has been liked over 1k times, with some of her fans urging her to find a way to get around it.

By the way, Modiehi Thulo shares a deep bond with her daughter, who’s also a sangoma. Boity celebrates her mother every opportunity she has. The “Wuz Dat” rapper is proud that the sangoma calling runs in the family, and is never ashamed to let the world know this.
