Exploitation in the film industry is one subject that has been around for as long as one can remember, and it is not the reality of one country alone. Around the world, the same story prevails. Only, some are not as reported as others.
Anyway, in South Africa, the debate about the exploitation of actors has seemingly taken a front burner after actor Vuyo Dabula shared a WhatsApp conversation he had with a director who was owing him for a flick he featured in.
His sharing the conversation and exposing the director provoked mixed reactions frontline, with some netizens calling him out, letting him know that his action was unprofessional. Some even said that he should be sanctioned.
Well, to each his verdict, but Vuyo Dabula certainly has the support of some of his compatriots and industry colleagues, most notably Hungani Ndlovu. Reacting to the whole drama, Hungani shared Vuyo’s sentiments, stating in a clip shared on his official Instagram page that producers should stop exploiting actors. You can check out the post below.
It remains to be seen what impact the advocacy from the two notable actors will have in the industry. We will be here to share new developments with you, of course.
