South Africans are shocked and surprised that Thapelo Molomo, the SAPS warrant officer who won the Idols SA reality show last year (2022) was recorded selling eggs from the boot of his car.
Given that he won a cash prize of R1 million cash among other prizes following his Idols SA triumph, many South Africans are insinuating that the singer has blown his money away and is now broke. But is he?
Reacting to claims that he is now broke, the songster laughed it all away, noting that his selling eggs from the boot of his car was simply a way to motivate others to have multiple streams of income. He insisted that people have to try other avenues of making money because it is difficult to get it right every time, even in the music space.
He also noted that it is better one has a side hustle which one knows money is coming in regularly from.
His take elicited mixed reactions, though, with some South Africans applauding his initiative and others wondering if there were no better businesses to do with the R1 million he got from his Idols SA win last year.
