It has often been said that to each his favourite and to each his crowd. And that’s what’s playing out in the current season of the reality show Idols SA.
Although several contestants are in for the prize and hope to emerge winner at the end of the day, two contestants appear to stand out the most for many viewers: Thapelo and Nozi, and there is a strong call for either to clinch the coveted prize.
Beyond the call, there is also strong advocacy for the two to collaborate. But then, as is all too familiar. All this might not translate to victory at the end of the day. A lot comes into play for any contestant to eventually emerge victorious.
Thapelo is a finalist for the show and has got a strong support base. The same might be said of Nozi. In fact, according to some keen followers of the show, both have got great talents, and whether they win or lose, they will still go far in South Africa’s music industry.
That might be true, after all. Artists who didn’t emerge winners on the show have gone on to have impressive musical careers, while some past winners have long been forgotten.
