Amapiano might be the in-thing in South Africa right now – or appears to be so – but it has not impressed hip hop artiste iFani, and he’s propping himself as the bod to kick amapiano out of the way and install hip hop on the top pedestal.
The songster made this known in a recent tweet. While acknowledging amapiano has done great in South Africa and is currently at the top, he noted that he would be bringing hip hop to that very spot, beginning this week.

While some social media users took iFani’s post seriously and are looking forward to him unleashing the magic he promised, others scoffed at his claim, citing he’s no longer relevant on the music scene.
While we wouldn’t want to take sides, it would be nice to see what iFani would do or the hip-hop scene beginning this week – as he had promised.
Once upon a time, iFani was one of the key figures in South African hip hop and many looked forward to him becoming one of the greatest in the game – if not the greatest. Somehow, the songster declined musically instead.
It would be great to witness his comeback.
