‘Imbewu: The Seed’ Gets Cancelled After 5 Years
Mzansi shares mixed reactions to the news that “Imbewu: The Seed” has been canceled by eTV after airing successfully for over five years.
No one likes to hear that their favorite shows have been canceled. A lot of that seems to be happening recently. Media commentator Phil Mphela recently took to his platform to share that the hit eTV series “Imbewu: The Seed” had been canceled after successfully airing for five years.
According to the heartbreaking news, the show’s last episode will air in the first quarter of 2023. This has come as a shock to some of the viewers of the show, who expressed their sadness to see it go. A Tweep commented, questioning the cancellation, “how can a channel move a show that was one of the most watched to a slot with so much competition? I’m saddened by this cos this was really a great show.” Some fans did not feel bad about the news.
I used to enjoy this show until I stopped. The story line is confusing. They are recycling dead people. I don't even know what happened to Zithulele's girlfriend & how the ex wife is now back in the house. Confusion, I tell you. I don't even want to mention the Mzwandile part.

All these KZN based telenovelas are getting cancelled, first it was Durban Gen and now Imbewu. Now actors must go to Jozi for work all over again. pic.twitter.com/aBWth0VgCb

Wasn't the same announcement made sometime last year? What makes this one different?
