In South Africa, the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is often seen as the lifeblood of students struggling to pay their fees. As a result, great expectations usually follow the news coming from the body.
Talking about news, there is a lot to ingest for those who are looking to get funding from the body – and the deadline is looming.
In a post on its official X account, the NSFAS announced that the win down for registration for the NSFAS has been extended. With the extension, students looking for bursaries and other financial aid have the opportunity to submit their applications before the 15th of February.
After that date, the application officially closes and students would no longer have the opportunity to submit their applications. So it is vital those who are keen not to miss the funds hurry up with their application.
Great news this morning! The window of Applications for NSFAS funding for the 2024 academic year has been extended to 15 February 2024.This means those who were unable to submit their applications have a second chance to do so. There is no assurance that everyone who applies will eventually get selected, however. At the time of writing, vide the NSFAS post on X, there have been over 1.7 million applications for the 2024 academic year.
This indicates a strong demand for sponsorship among students. Well, cheers to those applying and good luck in getting what you want.
