The drama continues at the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC), with the church backing its current leader, Bishop Michael Sandlana, despite his being criminally charged.
The IPHC was founded by Frederick Samuel Modise in Meadowlands in 1962. He died in 2021. There is an ongoing tussle over the leadership of the church. While Bishop Michael Sandlana currently leads the congregation, the sons of the late founder are fighting to take over the mantle of leadership.
However, in a move that snagged the attention of many watchers, the church noted it is standing behind its current leader, Bishop Michael Sandlana, in spite of the criminal charges hovering on his head. Part of the argument is that the late Frederick Samuel Modise’s sons are not qualified to lead the church.
The succession case of the IPHC has been in court for a while. The recent withdrawal of the case reportedly delighted members of the church. But the crisis is not over yet. While Bishop Sandlana holds court at the IPHC, the sons of the late Modise continue their fight to take over from him.
It is impossible to tell if and when the crisis might end. You may want to stay tuned if you please.
