Actress Zinhle Mabena has been arrested over alleged plot to kill her husband Robert Ngwenya.
A Sunday World report indicated that gunmen, wielding AK-47s, had opened fire on Robert Ngwenya and his body guard at a Centurion petrol station on 28 January. Robert Ngwenya was unharmed but his bodyguard died in the shooting.
Captain Kay Makhubele, spokesman for the police, confirmed the arrest of the Isibaya actress, stating she will make her first appearance in court today Wednesday 17 February 2021, following her arrest yesterday, Tuesday.
Captain Kay Makhubele stated her arrest was based on the suspicion she was privy to the attempted murder of her husband and the murder of her husband’s bodyguard. He insisted that the police have found evidence linking the actress to the death and the attempted murder.
By the way, prior to her arrest, Zinhle Mabena had appeared in several movies. She had, for instance, played Zindzi Mandela in a biopic about the late Madiba’s daughter who died of coronavirus complications in 2020. Zinhle Mabena said in an interview months ago that she regreeted no having met the late Zinzi Mandela before her death.
