Jackie Phamotse Raises Valid Points Over Simphiwe Ngema’s Visit To Thabo Bester In Prison

Simphiwe Ngema is the talk of town right now – but not for good. She became a trending topic in South Africa after she admitted in an Instagram post that she indeed visited Thabo Bester in prison. Thabo Bester is a convicted felon who stands accused of several murders. He was jailed but escaped after a false fire, leaving a body double in his cell to pass as himself – supposedly dead in prison.

The ruse was later unearthed and Bester himself was arrested in Arusha, Tanzania, as he tried to cross into the Kenya border with a woman who had featured prominently in his crime run: Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

It was said that one woman had visited Bester a day before his escape from jail. It was initially rumoured to be Shauwn Mkhize, but she stoutly denied it. And then Simz Ngema came out to admit she was the one who visited him, claiming that she wanted to collect payments for work done for Bester’s company. She had to take down the Instagram post because of the backlash it generated.

Reacting to her claims, the writer Jackie Phamotse raised some valid questions, including that Simz was aware Bester was running a scam from prison.
