Janelle Monae fights to liberate the people with her new song “Turntables”.
It has really been a minute since Janelle Monae released new music. The “Yoga” singer last dropped music with her 2018 album “Dirty Computer” which was a critical success. She has since been on a pause on the scene. Finally, she’s back and we are so excited.
With her new song, Monae is fighting for the liberation of the people. She calls it “Turntables”. With this new release, she aims to “highlight all of the people on are on the frontlines fighting for our democracy”. The song is also for people fighting against “white supremacy, systemic racism, and systemic oppression”.
“Turntables” is that energy boost everyone needs to keep them pushing and fighting for what is right. According to Monae, “it is really for the people”. It was written for the upcoming Amazon Studios documentary, All In: The fight for democracy”. It was also featured in it.
