“Aquaman” star Jason Momoa has addressed rumors of being homeless following his divorce from Lisa Bonet.
Jason Momoa may be a single man now, but he hasn’t lost his sense of humor. The actor joked to PEOPLE on Thursday night at an event for the documentary Common Ground at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills,
“I’m just houseless. I’m not homeless,”
He continued, “I have a nice trailer. Everyone’s like, ‘Jason Momoa’s homeless.’ I’m like, ‘Relax. I got a f****** sleeping bag.’”
Momoa’s divorce from Bonet was finalized this month, 24 hours after it was filed. He told Entertainment Tonight he didn’t have a home after the separation. However, he said he’s always on the road, and is busy working on films.
He told PEOPLE that he hasn’t bought a house yet, “I’ve never bought a house yet, so I’m excited to one day.”
He added that people will be amazed when they find out he actually purchased a house: “Like ‘Jason Momoa bought a home. Holy s—. He’s got a pillow now.’”
About his work, he said, “I grew up not working that much. When the kids were young, it’s just hard getting jobs.”
“Now that you’re working, you’re like, ‘Oh, I grew up in the Midwest, man.’ I just work and work, and it feels weird not to work. And if you do what you love, then you’re like, ‘This is not work. I’m helping out with the movies that I really love.’”
