José Mourinho Sent Off Over “Crying” Theatrics As Roma Beats Monza

José Mourinho’s love for drama follows him everywhere he goes. Even at 60, it appears the celebrated coach is yet to do away with his love for comedy, whether on the pitch or not.

Roma’s recent encounter with Monza, which ended in a dramatic win for José Mourinho’s boys, saw him making a “crying” gesture in the direction of the bench of the losing team. While the gesture might have appeared to him as harmless, not so to the coach.

Mourinho was given a red card and sent off. After the game, though, he was questioned about his action and the red card it provoked. He appeared unbothered as he noted that he merely made a gesture in the direction of the bench, without a word to back it up.

As far as he was concerned, the gesture was not enough ground for a red card. He got the red card anyway and has got to live with it. With the card comes a baring from Roma’s next game against Inter Milan, a club he had coached between 2008 and 2010 and won two league titles with.

Well, it will be interesting to see how Roma will perform without Mourinho guiding the team from the stands.
