Jubilation As Idols SA Season 16 Resumes Production

Contrary to speculations, fuelled heavily by the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessity of social distancing, Idols SA is resuming production again, for its 16th season.

Idols SA was massively popular, so the initial speculation the show would be discontinued because of the pandemic had been greeted with consternation and even anger. Well, the show is continuing and y’all can hold your peace and follow from where you stopped.

The poremiere date for the 16th season will be announced soon.

In a statement released 15 June 2020, M-Net’s Nomsa Philiso announced the shooting and mass online auditions were completed before the South African government implemented lockdown measures to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

Continuing, he stated that Idols SA Season 16 is currently in the production phase. This phase is being handled by SIC Entertainment while adhering to the governments’ guidelines on the lockdown.
