Justice Malala Condemned For Take On President Cyril Ramaphosa

South Africa’s political commentator Justice Malala is under fire for his take on President Cyril Ramaphosa, who’s under investigation after a heist took place at his farm in 2020.

A former police boss, Arthur Fraser, had claimed in a report filed with the police that the president concealed a robbery at his farm in which millions of dollars were stolen. He also accused the president of money laundering.

Amid the call for a deep probe and for the president to step down, Justice Malala had stepped in, writing that if Fraser’s allegations should force the president out of office, then South Africa would return to the state capture era when Jacob Zuma was president.

He sees the Phala Phala revelation as nothing but intrigue. He believes that although Ramaphosa has his weaknesses as a leader, he’s facing the right direction.

Some South Africans think otherwise, though. And they insist that the president should be probed over the allegations against him. And if he should be found guilty, he should be tossed out of office accordingly.

It remains to be seen what direction the case will take and if the president will stay in office amid the ongoing storm. Stay tuned for more sauce.
