Justin Bieber sides Ariana Grande following accusations by Tekashi 6ix9ine.
It seems 6ix9ine has grown up from the scared rapper who cried while he stood before a judge in court last year. Apparently, he’s crowned himself the King of Newyork and believes he deserves a number one song as much as everyone else.
The “Gooba” rapper caused a stir last week when he alleged that Billboard was manipulating numbers so his song wouldn’t hit the top spot. However, it didn’t end there, the official Hot 100 top 10 was released yesterday and it showed Ariana and Justin’s “Stuck With U” debuted at number 1 while his hit number 3.
Not letting go without a fight, the “Fefe” rapper released a video accusing Ariana of buying numbers so her song would be number 1. Ari, while thanking her fans shot back at 6ix9ine revealing that hers and Justin’s fans bought the songs, no more than four each. She also stated that numbers never mattered to her.
“My fans bought the song. JUSTIN’S fans bought the song. OUR fans bought this song (never more than four copies each, AS THE RULES STATE). they are ride or die motherfuckers and i thank god every day that i have them in my life,”
6ix9ine, shifting from his initial allegations, made it more about their upbringing stating that Ari grew up privileged while he worked his way up. As expected, Justin came to her defence. He released a statement via his IG stories schooling the rapper about how the charts actually work which also got a reaction from the “King of New York”.
“He says his streams don’t count. Yeus they do but he is counting his global streams and this is a domestic chart so only domestic streams count.
60,000 units came because we don’t disclose out numbers until the end of the week. That’s called strategy.
He said 30k was bought with 6 credit cards but that is a lie. The rules are clear one credit card can buy max 4 copies. Anything over that the entire amount gets thrown out. Nielsen company checks this and found all sales were legit becuase our fans are amazing and bought them. Don’t discredit out fan base with false info.
This is my song with Ariana Grande and I’m honored to work with her to help raise money for a great cause. If you gonna say her name make sure you say mine because it’s our song.”
