The event, which recently took place in Pretoria, saw Kabza De Small walking away with multiple accolades, solidifying his status as a leading figure in the Amapiano music scene.

Kabza De Small’s triumph at the SAMAs included prestigious awards such as Best Duo/Group of The Year, which he shared with DJ Maphorisa for their collaboration as Scorpion Kings. Additionally, his album “KOA II Part 1” was celebrated for its exceptional production, earning him the Best Produced Album award. This recognition underscores Kabza’s influential role in shaping the Amapiano genre, a style that has taken the South African music industry by storm.

The SAMAs also paid tribute to the late AKA, a renowned South African rapper, who posthumously received the Male Artist of The Year and Best Collaboration awards. This honor reflects AKA’s enduring impact on the music industry and his significant contributions to the South African music scene.

The awards ceremony, which was a last-minute collaboration with the inaugural Africa Feat at Sun International’s SunBet Arena, came after the KwaZulu-Natal government withdrew from hosting the event. Kabza De Small’s dominance at the SAMAs is a testament to his artistic prowess and his significant influence in the Amapiano genre. His achievements at the awards ceremony are not only a personal victory but also a celebration of the vibrant and evolving South African music landscape.
