After filing to have his name changed to what many would consider a contraction, American rapper Kanye West is now officially Ye West.
Kanye West had filed for a name change in a Los Angeles court, which granted his prayers in August. Thereafter Kanye West had formally requested the name change in all things relating to him.
So anything from his orbit right now will be known as having dropped from Ye West. Kanye is dead. Long live Ye!
The name may have changed but y’all still have the same musician and the same old Kanye West energy. The news of the formal name change is currently generating mixed reactions online, with fans unable to agree on anything. What’s in a name?
By the way, Kanye West recently released a body of work named for his mother “Donda.” Actually, he claimed Universal Music had released the compilation without his permission. But then the project was an instant chart-topper, amplifying the rapper’s place in global pop.
