Kanye West’s “DONDA” Album Breaks Spotify & Apple Music Records

American rapper Kanye West’s “DONDA” album is doing crazy numbers since its “accidental” release on Sunday 29 August. The project has already broken Apple Music’s streaming records, with 19 songs taking spots in the top 20 chart.

When the album dropped on Sunday, Kanye West had taken to Instagram to inform the world that Universal Music had released the project without his permission, noting the global music powerhouse had also dropped “Jail 2” from the compilation.

“Jail 2” was a collaborative song with DaBaby, who many had thought would replace Jay-Z on the intensely anticipated album. Ultimately, it was the original “Jail,” which featured Jay-Z, which was released.

By the way,  Ye’s”DONDA” has broken the Spotify record Olivia Rodrigo set with her album “Sour.”

“DONDA” dropped after series of delays, some of which appear to be deliberate. Kanye West had deliberately pushed the release date for the project to September 3 to coincide with Drake’s. Ultimately, fans didn’t have to wait that long…. And “DONDA” is number one in more than 150 countries.

Expect fans to compare numbers when rival Drake drops “Certified Lover Boy” on Friday.
