Katlego Maboe demands R4 million for reputation and psychological damage

Former presenter, Katlego Maboe demands R4 million from 4 people citing reputation and psychological damage.

If you thought the Katlego Maboe drama ended last year, it actually hasn’t. The popular on-Air personality came under fire in year 2020 when allegations of cheating and abuse were leveled against him by his former partner, Monique Muller were made public.

The allegations sparked so much controversy leading to him being kicked off the Expresso Morning Show. Outsurance ads featuring him were also taken off air. It didn’t end there as Netwerk 24 reported that he had been taken off the nominees list for Best TV Presenter at the National Film and Video Foundation’s South African Film And Television Awards (SAFTAs).

According to new reports, Katlego is now demanding R1 million each from 4 people who allegedly tarnished his image. They include his former partner, Monique Muller, her brother, Women For Change founder, Sabrina Walter, and chairperson of the judges for the NFVF’s Saftas, Dr Janet van Eeden.

Katlego will reportedly start official damage claims against them if they do not pay within 3 weeks. He will be claiming loss of income, psychological damage, and damage to his reputation. Back in 2020, Katlego said this about the accusations;

“I had chosen to deal with this matter privately to protect and safeguard our child,”
