Kelechi Iheanacho’s Goal Propels Nigeria Ahead Of Egypt In Ongoing AFCON

It was a moment of victory and celebration for the Super Eagles as the striker Kelechi Iheanacho netted a goal that pushed the Eagles past their Group D rivals Egypt in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Leicester City star was in top form throughout the game, which ended 1-0, with victory for the Nigerian side in Garoua on Tuesday.

The Nigerian side would have added more goals, but the Egyptians fought hard and ensured the Super Eagles have no access to the Egyptian net a second time.

The Egyptian side was deeply affected by the loss of Akram Tawfik to injury in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Nigeria side capitalized on that loss to dominate the game and ultimately win it at the final whistle.

The highly-rated Mohamed Salah was on service for the Egyptian side. But on the pitch, he was mostly starved of service and ended up not delivering at optimum.

Kelechi became a hero in Nigerian and many considered him the man of the March thanks to his performance against the Egyptian side.

By the way, the second game of Group D will see war-ravaged Sudan slug it out with Guinea Bissau on Tuesday.
