Kelly Khumalo explains the cover art controversy for her upcoming album “Voice of Africa”.

Mzansi singer and business woman, Kelly Khumalo should have been used to the hate she gets on social media but sometimes she’s definitely going to defend herself as expected. The Mzansi star has come out to address the backlash from the concept of her appearance in her new song “Empini” and the cover art of her upcoming album “The Voice of Africa”.

The talented songstress has been accused of featuring black face on both projects. This led her to speak out in a recent Instagram post sharing the idea behind the concept which obviously has nothing to do with black face.

According to her, it was inspired by Bastet, the Egyptian black cat goddess. “This goddess was not only known as the protector, but the goddess of war.” Fortunately, a social media user also corroborated this on the platform. At least, some of the hate towards her would dissipate.
