The drama continues in the bid to unravel the killers of former Bafana Bafana goalie Senzo Meyiwa, with his former girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in the spotlight again as the alleged person who ordered the hit on him.
Two of the accused standing trial for the murder of the footballer have admitted their involvement in Senzo’s killing. claiming that singer Kelly Khumalo hired them for the job.
The confession sparked a debate online, with some South Africans calling for the singer’s arrest and some wondering what she stood to gain from killing the footballer.
Interestingly, before the confessions by Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi, Kelly Khumalo had always insisted on her innocence, even claiming at some point that Senzo Meyiwas was the only man she had even (truly) loved.
Senzo was shot dead at Kelly Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus in 2014. She was present along with her mother, her sister Zandie, and others when the killing took place. But she has insisted since then that she wasn’t the killer and had not clue who killed Senzo.
With the recent implication in Senzo Meyiwa’s killing by Messrs Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi, all eyes are once again on Kelly Khumalo and the law to see what will follow next.
