It’s a terribly judgmental mental world, and Khaya Mthethwa is one of the divorcees in South Africa and one who has had to contend with the pains and shame of being one, especially so as he’s now a pastor. The media personality is currently a pastor in the Oasis Church in the heart of Umlazi, Durban.
Khaya Mthethwa married the former Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene in 2017. They welcomed a baby boy soon after and divorced in 2019 – exactly two years after getting married.
Recalling that period, Khaya stated that he battled with alcohol problems. In a recent interview with YFM, Khaya detailed having to face many questions on him being a Christian and at the same time leaving his wife, since, according to those who often question him, God hates divorce.
Well, he’s lived with that shame, according to him. Now, he’s building himself up and growing into a better man, with a better understanding of life and relationship. Besides his marital story, he touched on other subjects in the interview, which you can check out below.
