kidnapped Nkangala District Municipal Manager & Driver Found Safe In Diepsloot

Not every kidnap victim gets to tell the tale. Some are murdered, never again to share the embrace of their families. But kidnapped Nkangala municipal manager Maggie Skosana and her driver Gugu Mtsweni are among the lucky few. Soon after her kidnap, she was found alive in Diepsloot on Wednesday evening (yesterday).

The Gauteng police confirmed the discovery while also noting that the kidnappers dumped both in the bushes along the N14 in Diepsloot.

Detailing what happened, the police stated that her driver was tied with a rope but managed to make it to the road to seek help. She related the story to the taxi driver, who then alerted the police.

Police spox police colonel Donald Mdhluli corroborated the story, noting that the police went to the bushes with the driver and taxi, where the municipal manager was found. They were taken to the police station and then to the hospital, from where they are expected to reunite with their families today, Thursday, 28 October.

The news of the municipal manager’s safe return with her driver provoked waves of gratitude and appreciation on social media, with some Mzansi tweeps calling on their compatriots to be more careful as the year screeches to a close.
