Amapiano musician Killer Kau might be gone ― dead in a freak accident ― but his memory lives, at least in the heart of the lady he left behind.

In a recent video post to Instagram, his girlfriend Olwethu Mkhwanazi mourned him deeply, wondering why he had to leave too soon. His death literally ripped her heart out of her chest, according to her.

The video illumines the timeline of her moments with killer Kau, with Aaliyah’s “I Miss You” song playing in the background. The responses to her post indicate fans share in her grief.

Killer Kau and four others, including fellow amapiano muso Mpura, had died the other day in a accident that sent shock waves across the amapiano community. They were said to be heading to a gig at the time of the accident.

Until his death, he was one of the buzzing voices in South Africa’s amapiano orbit. He had risen to fame via the release of a song dubbed “Tholukuthi Hey!” he had remained in the consciousness of music lovers in South Africa since then.
