Kolisi Set To Join French Club Racing 92

Springbok star Siya Kolisi will join French club Racing 92 later this year.

A recent article on The Witness reports that Springbok star Siya Kolisi will leave Durban-based Sharks at the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in September and join French club Racing 92. This will mark a significant leap for the famous athlete.

The Witness reports that the move was confirmed on Tuesday, January 3rd. Kolisi will leave Durban-based Sharks at the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in September and join the Racing 92 French club. According to more reports, a separate announcement was made on the same day that Kolisi’s autobiography “Rise” will be turned into a television documentary.

According to The Sharks, the star athlete has been granted an early release from his contract to join the French outfit after the world cup. They added that he would be leaving with the club’s full blessing. Kolisi joined the Sharks in 2021 and quickly became an integral member of the team.

“His move to France is a new and exciting opportunity, and we could not be happier for him.” Said Sharks’ CEO, Dr. Eduard Coetzee. He stated that for the remainder of the season, they looked forward to his continued contributions to the team.

Thanking the team, Kolisi said, “It has been an incredible collaborative effort between the Sharks and Racing 92 that has enabled me to start a new chapter in my career after the 2023 World Cup. I want to give a massive thanks to the Sharks for welcoming me with open arms in 2021 and for making me feel so at home in Durban, while their support over the last couple of years has been hugely influential during a key period in my career.”
