Kwaito Artist And Former Rhythm City Actor Brian “Bruno” Majola Is Dead

This is not the best week for South Africa’s kwaito universe, having lost two musicians so far. The death has just been announced of former Rhythm City actor and kwaito musician Brian “Bruno” Majola.

A family member who would rather remain anonymous confirmed the death while noting a meeting would be underway with other members of the family to put out a joint statement on the musician and actor’s death.

Until his death, Brian was known for the life he brought to his role in the now-discontinued popular soapie Rhythm City. He also stood out for his contributions to South Africa’s kwaito space,

His one-time friend Pardon Makamu confirmed his death. Going into some detail about their friendship, he noted that they were best friends at some point, but they were not on talking terms when Bruno died.

Still, they had some of the best moments together as friends, and he would always remember those for what they are. He said he met Bruno through another famous artist, Zola 7, in Melville. And although they were not talking when Bruno died, Pardon said the kwaito musician’s death deeply hurts him.

Details about the funeral will be out shortly. So, stay tuned.
