Kwaito Musician And TKZee Member Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala Dead At 45

It is a sad moment for South Africa’s kwaito community as it losses one of its notable figures, Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala. The 45-year-old reportedly died in his sleep.

A family member found his lifeless body on the morning of 15th August. While the exact cause of death has not been determined, a close family member suggested his passing might be linked to his battle with epilepsy.

This not somehow opens another about another musician of the kwaito genre, Zola 7, who is also suffering from epilepsy. Zola is still around and managing his illness.

Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala has been called one of the most notable kwaito figures in South Africa and one who stood out as much for his singing as for his songwriting skills. His death is already reverberating across the Rainbow Nation, with many finding it hard to believe that he’s no more. He was, after all, just 45 years.
