Kwesta On The Making Of His 2016 Classic Ngud’

Back in 2016, South African rapper Kwesta released a song titled “Ngud’.” He had great hopes about the song. But his hopes were not nearly as high as what followed – the song blew up and remains one of his biggest hits to date, if not the biggest.

Kwesta had created “Ngud'” for township folk. He didn’t expect it to do well among the middle class. Surprisingly, to him, there was no difference in class appreciation of the song. Everyone apparently had an “Ngud'” fever.

Kwesta detailed his “Ngud'” success and more during a recent sit-down with Pan African Music. He also spoke about his most recent proeject, “god GULUVA” album, which is currently on the crosshairs of music loves in South Africa.

On why he took long to release “Da KAR II,” he stated that he was fully booked and there was no time to work on the project. Well, he got time recently and unleashed another memorable project – “god GULUVA” so to speak. Some fans think that body of work a classic.

It’s been years since he released the song, but te appeal of that number remains. In fact, fans routinely reference it speaking of the songster’s body of work.
