KZN Flooding: Samsung Announces Appliance Service Initiative to Aid Residents

Amid the anguish caused by the devastating flood in the KwaZulu-Natal area of South Africa, Samsung is offering to help residents the way it sees fit.

In a statement, the company regretted the loss of lives and homes as a result of the flood, adding it will be making its resources available to help those within the region.

As part of this initiative, residents can now send in their Samsung appliances (and those of other brands) to have them cleaned at no cost. Residents also get free product assessments, as well as insurance notices on Samsung products.

Parts are eligible for discounts, as does the repair service Samsung is offering in collaboration with its partners.

Eligible products in the ongoing campaign are refrigerators, dishwashers, microwave ovens, washing machines, washing machine dryers, TVs and audiovisual products.

To participate in the campaign, residents will have to take eligible appliances to the drop-off points at Makro stores in Durban North (Cornubia), Central Durban (Springfield), and Durban South (Amanzimtoti).

The campaign will run from 25 April to 8 May 2022. However, depending on the situation on the ground, the campaign might be extended. If there’s an extension, we might also bring you the news. So stay tuned.
