It was a bang of surprise for most watches of the South African reality show The Masked Singer SA, when Nokayiso Conco, long known simply as Laconco, was unmasked as Star.
The Masked Singer SA is a show that brings together “singers” who are masked so their identity isn’t known and so that they wouldn’t;t be judged on who they are but how well they perform.
So far, a couple of famous figures have been unmasked on the show, including Khutso Theledi as Cheetah, Nthati Moshesh as Springbok and Celeste Ntuli as Tortoise.
Laconco was the latest to be unmasked on the show. Of course, before the unmaking, a lot of people on the set had a lot of guessing, but somehow none of them managed to get it right.
Yeah, J’Something, Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba Hlophe, who all tried to guess the identity behind the Star mask were unsuccessful.
Well, the mask was eventually lifted. You can imagine the buzz that followed the revelation of Laconco as the Star character. Her verdict? I can’t sing for the life of me. Well, that was why the mask was off and the public got to know she was the one behind it. lol
